To celebrate the launch of Street Fighter IV, the latest instalment in one of the most successful fighting game series of all time, video games giant Capcom has made available for the first time the original, fully-mastered vocal, FX and music samples taken from the cult classic Street Fighter II, enabling DJs and producers access to cut, scratch, remix and re-edit these classic parts to their. Street Fighter II is the arcade sequel to the original Street Fighter and was developed and published by Capcom in 1991. Originally made for arcades, it was later released for other platforms, including that Amiga and PC. This installment improves upon many of the concepts introduced in the first. The Street Fighter II samples can be downloaded in a zip file, and are supplied in WAV format. The idea is that you use these as the basis for a remix, post an MP3 of it online then send a link to it to Trackitdown.net.
The creators of the four remixes judged to be the best will each win an Xbox 360 and a copy of Street Fighter IV.
